LAND USE: The Township consists mainly of agricultural properties and residential properties, but there are also several small businesses and light industrial facilities. A large portion of the Township is wooded acreage that supports abundant wildlife and part of the local logging industry.

SCHOOLS: The Wayne Highlands School District operates the Damascus Elementary and Middle School (PTA) in the Village of Damascus. The Honesdale High School serves the high school students. The school district provides transportation for the students to and from school. Also, the Damascus Christian Academy is located in the Village of Damascus.

LOCAL BUSINESSES include building and excavating contractors, professional services, light manufacturing, sawmills, vehicle repair stations, general stores, computer services, and much more.

PONDS and LAKES: Largest water bodies include: Barkley Lake, Beaver Lake, Cline Pond, Duck Harbor Pond, Fallsdale Pond, Galilee Pond, Laurel Lake, Silver Lake, Sky Lake, Snyder Pond, and Swago Pond.

WATER COURSES: Main rivers, creeks and streams include: Beaver Dam Creek, Delaware River, Hollister Creek, Little Equinunk Creek, North Branch of Calkins Creek, and South Branch of Calkins Creek.

ROAD SYSTEM:

State Highways: 83.49 miles
Total: 178.38 miles
Main Traffic Routes: Pennsylvania Route 191, Pennsylvania Route 371 and Pennsylvania Route 652. Interstate highways are minutes away.
